Silly Boy!

Our almost-3-year-old boy is full of life (and sometimes drama). We continue to hear "I not do that", "because I need too", etc. The other day he hugged me and said, "Mama's my girl". What a sweet boy!

It is fun to watch him play. He has quite an imagination.

He's a good mechanic. He loves to play with trucks and other vehicles.
Check out all those little people!
And He LOVES stickers!

Po-cakes!!!

"Po-cakes" means "pancakes" in Nathan's toddler-talk, and this morning we had po-cakes for breakfast. But not just any po-cakes. Orange po-cakes! Nathan's favorite color is orange, so we added food coloring to the batter to make teal, purple, lime green, and orange pancakes. (Editor's Note: as of the publication of this blog, Nathan has improved his ability to say "pancakes" properly, so the Era of the Po-cake may be drawing to a close. Aw, man!)

Nathan enjoyed mixing in the colors.
All colors are ready!
Cooking ... cooking ... I'm starting to see bubbles ...
... flip 'em, and ... they're done!
Now, for the best part. Mmmmmmm ... po-cakes!
"How are those orange pancakes, Nathan?"

Why?

Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?

BECAUSE I SAID SO !!!!!! Yep, that's where we live these days. The Land of Why.

AND We love it! Well not the "why" part, but just about everything else. Nathan is learning and growing up so fast.

So, when things get too toddler-crazy, the best way to cope is with ...

Justin edited these silly photos for us.

"Barker" had a hole so Nathan called Grandma Carlton and she sewed him right up.
In January Nathan moved out of the baby bed into a toddler bed.

Matt and Nathan jamming.
Boxes make great race cars, drums, etc.
This is Nathan pretending to be an elephant.
Valentine's Day
Treats from Grandmama (They are both saying "ooooo")
Nathan LOVES his Handy Manny
Sometimes Nathan "helps" daddy with homework.
(Not sure why they are wearing hats)
Same box/car

Mommy's Birthday at Miller's Grocery.
Yum! Yum!

Helping daddy under the house. . . with flashlights!
This is how Nathan spends time playing with his cars and trucks now.
He gets on their level and makes motor sounds.

Snow January 2010

It snowed one Friday afternoon in January...a lot! Mark got off work early, and we played in the snow with our neighbors for over 2 hours. We think Nathan is the cutest thing when he is bundled up.

Hi, I'm a snowman cake, and I'm delicious!

Hi, I'm Nathan, and I'm cute when I play in the snow!

It was a fun afternoon!
Mommy even played a little bit.
But mostly it was Nathan ...
...throwing snowballs...
...drawing on the neighbor's cars... (well Mark did that)
...shoveling snow...
...encouraging the neighbors to try new tricks...
(it didn't really work too well, but it was fun trying)
(really, even this shot looks much more exciting than it actually was)
then, we got a really good idea. to build a snow-wall in front of the neighbors' door.
one brick at a time
Nathan worked hard the whole time.
But he couldn't have been happier. See that smile ...
This is our neighbor Justin and Nathan with the completed wall. Nathan LOVES "Jus-Jus"
The next morning the trees had a nice coating of ice on top of the snow.
